Scheid Vineyards

(831) 626-WINE (9463)

In our 44th year of farming, we own ten estate vineyards located along a 70-mile spread of the Salinas Valley. We built a state-of-the-art winery with a crushing capacity of 30,000 tons, as well as a smaller Reserve Winery where the small production wines of Scheid Vineyards are crafted. With 4,000 acres of vineyards, we sell the majority of our production as custom-made wines to other wineries. And happily, we are still the Gang of 4, with Al spending a little less time working and a little more time golfing, Scott heading up the operation as President and CEO, Kurt running the vineyards and winery as Chief Operating Officer, and Heidi managing sales, marketing and myriad of other duties as Senior Vice President.

McIntyre Vineyards

(831) 626-6268

Our McIntyre Estate Vineyard lies in the “sweet spot” of Monterey County’s Santa Lucia Highlands AVA, a 12-mile stretch of east-facing benchland renowned for producing wines with great character and complexity. Originally planted in 1973, this 80-acre parcel boasts some of the Highlands’ oldest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines. Since purchasing the property in 1987, our family has enhanced the viticultural practices at the site and elevated the quality of the fruit. It was among the first properties in the Santa Lucia Highlands to be SIP Certified (Sustainability In Practice). Our wines are prized for their character, purity and deliciousness.

Silvestri Vineyards

(831) 625-0111

Alan Silvestri, one of Hollywoods most prolific film composers, has written the scores for over 100 films. Alan and his wife, Sandra, a former Ford model, activist and fundraiser for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, have been married 37 years and moved to the Monterey Peninsula in 1989. Following the footsteps of Alan's Italian grandparents the Silvestris began a vineyard in Carmel Valley in 1999. Their first vintage was 2003 and from those first Chardonnays, Syrahs, and Pinot Noirs the Silvestri Vineyards has produced some of the highest rated estate wines from Carmel Valley. The rocky soil and coastal weather are perfect for growing the 13 varietals handcrafted by their winemaker, Frank Melicia. Frank joined Silvestri Vineyards in 2012 bringing knowledge and experience acquired working in his family vineyard. The partnership of the Silvestris and Frank Melicia is represented in the Barbera, Red Ranger Syrah, Rising Tide Pinot Noir and the Bella Sandra Chardonnay earning high praise from critics and fans. Salute!

Wine

Manzoni Cellars

(831) 620-6541

For almost 100 years, our family has lived and farmed in this beautiful little part of California’s Monterey County – today known to wine lovers as the Santa Lucia Highlands appellation. The SLH – one of the New World’s prestige addresses for growing cool-climate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, and Syrah. In many vineyards, high yields are the standard. The Manzoni Estate Vineyard strives, instead, for low yield – just three to four tons per acre. The crop is thinned by hand during the ripening process dropping the green fruit and small clusters. This meticulous process assures that the fruit is properly ripened. Superior harvest standards, relying on hand labor and hand selection of grapes, assures you that each wine you purchase is a premium vintage made from only the finest fruit. We have been producing award winning wines since 2003.

Wine

Galante Vineyards

(800) GALANTE

At Galante Vineyards our philosophy is simple: grow the finest grapes possible and let the fruit express itself in the wine. Since all of our grapes are estate grown, each bottle of wine we produce embodies the characteristics of our unique region, exhibiting the natural flavors that are born from the land. The Galante Family has a long history in the Monterey area. Owner Jack Galante's great grandfather, J.F. Devendorf, was the founder of the town of Carmel. He later built the Pine Inn and the prestigious Highlands Inn. In 1969, Jack's parents purchased a 700-acre cattle ranch in rustic Carmel Valley. While still maintaining a working cattle ranch, the Galantes, in 1983, began growing premium grapes on their property, specializing in Cabernet Sauvignon. In 1994, Jack Galante decided to build a winery and use some of his grapes to produce ultra-premium estate bottled wines. Today Galante is recognized as one of the premier Cabernet Sauvignon producers in Monterey County and all of California.

Ventana Vineyards

(831) 678-2306

The Ventana Vineyard was planted in 1974. The vineyard was named "Ventana," Spanish for "window," because the vineyard lies up against the Ventana Wilderness in Monterey County, but also because it symbolized a "window to the future" in California viticulture. At the time, there were very few vineyards in the area, but today, Monterey has taken its rightful place beside Napa and Sonoma as one of the great wine regions of California. The Arroyo Seco American Viticultural area (AVA) within Monterey County, California is world-renowned for being one of the best Chardonnay-growing climates, benefiting from the long cool growing season and mid afternoon winds. With over thirty years of awards, Ventana leads the way in defining great Chardonnay by producing a balanced, luscious wine with exotic tropical flavors and enhanced with the finest oak. Pinot Noir is another varietal that flourishes with intense fruit flavors in the cool AVA, delighting the taste buds with a dark cherry essence. Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Gewürztraminer also excel here.

Wine

Holman Ranch Vineyards

(831) 659-2640

Located at the northeastern tip of the Carmel Valley Appellation, the family-owned Holman Ranch resides approximately 12 miles inland from the Pacific Coast. Our 100% estate-grown wine varietals are planted on approximately 21 acres of undulating terrain. The wines produced are unfined and crafted to deliver the true varietal of the grape from harvest to bottle. The climate and terroir of the appellation has played a critical part in the success of our wines. The warmth of our inland valley coupled with the cooling marine layer has established itself as an ideal microclimate for the production of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. Our Burgundy Clones have thrived from the perfect blend of ideal climate, southern exposure and thin rocky soils. The estate wines of Holman Ranch include: Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Rosé of Pinot Noir. Carefully hand-harvested, cold pressed and bottled, the Extra Virgin Olive Oil produced from the fruits of our trees has a delightfully distinctive flavor.

Wine

Cima Collina Winery

(831) 620-0645

Cima Collina produces artisan wines from small Monterey vineyards. The idea of an “artisan wine” is the partnership with growers who meticulously cultivate vineyards, the insistence on using only carefully chosen fruit, and the creation of wine on a barrel-by-barrel basis. The focus on Monterey vineyards is an acknowledgment that this region is now and will continue to produce wines that are interesting, compelling and unique. Winemaker Annette Hoff Danzer is no newcomer to wine production, and she will tell you that her entire winemaking career has been a consistent march towards Monterey, that each stop along the way has prepared her for the opportunity to apply her artisan’s approach to producing the purest expression of Monterey County wines. In the late 1990’s, with an interest in the local wine industry and passion for wine, Carmel Valley resident and entrepreneur Dick Lumpkin began envisioning grapevines on his historic Hilltop Ranch property in Carmel Valley. The climate that made it inviting historically for hosting overnight guests – “invigorating, free of fog, with cool nights” - also made it ideal for growing grapes.
